What we found

35% of total expressions of interest forms received highlighted Thames as the area best suited for treatment. As most whānau travel in and around the area for work, it was unsurprising that Thames highlighted the greatest volume of need.

Based out of Pito Hauora, Thames, Niho Ora ki Hauraki provided oral health treatments to 50 whānau at the end of January earlier this year. Our team provided support to patients by helping them to and from their appointments as well as aiding with paperwork when needed.

Dental Planet was able to treat all fifty whānau who accessed the service, administering 48 treatments for gum disease and completing 107 fillings and 31 extractions. Of the fifty patients who received treatment, 54% of whānau reported levels of pain and discomfort.
