Kaiaua Hauora Day
A successful collaboration between Wharekawa Marae, Kaiaua school and Te Whatu Ora last month (April).
Kaiaua whānau were able to connect with a range of health services on the day. Talking with whānau about the local health changes, whānau were also sharing with our team their thoughts on what changes they would like to see in their community.

- Weekly doctor, dentist, vision and hearing services visiting Kaiaua.
- Transport options to see the doctor.
- Disability services in Kaiaua.
- More GP and Rongoa services.
- Mental health support.
- Aged support.
- Immediate access to care.
- Education on eating well, exercise and how to reduce stress.
- Rangatahi development.
- Easy access to services.
- More hauora days.

Facilitated by Khadine Topia, our Kahu Taurima team hosted their first consultation wānanga.
The Ngātea community were able to share their whakaaro about how health services could be improved.

Hosted by Hikutaia Marae, Te Tara o Te Whai attended the 50th annual Hauraki Cultural Festival in Te Aroha.
Te Tara o Te Whai hosted their first community wānanga in Waihī on October 28th.
