Writers retreat

Our Te Tara o Te Whai team have been busy preparing and then facilitating two Writer’s workshops.

Prior to these workshops, our team hosted a prep hui with key lead writers of the Locality Plan. During the workshops, groups discussed what solutions the Locality plan should focus on for each of our whānau priorities over the next three years, also identifying gaps that need to be addressed is also crucial for developing a comprehensive and effective plan.
Workshop outcomes:

  • Engage with key players, such as the Ministry of Business, Employment and Innovation, and Ministry of Education in our Localities’ work.
  • Exploring solutions, based on whānau feedback.
  • Exploring the best framework for the Locality plan, and realising our whānau voice is challenging when confined within the framework.

Where to from here:
Our team will work on identifying the best framework for the locality plan and bring it back to the group for consultation. We will be holding more writer’s workshops soon with the aim of identifying outcomes to focus on over the next three years.
